Bridgepoint Education, Inc. (NYSE: BPI) announced today that University of the Rockies, its graduate school specializing in psychology programs at the master's and doctoral levels, has introduced Graduate Certificate programs in General Psychology, Business Psychology and Organizational Leadership.

These 15-credit programs, offered both on campus and online, provide students with an opportunity to enhance their qualifications and resumes.

"Graduate Certificates have the potential to bolster qualifications for positions in various organizations. For example, someone who works in information technology could be in a better position to land a management position with a Graduate Certificate in Organizational Leadership," Dr. Stephen Kirkpatrick, dean of the School of Organizational Leadership, said.

"A police or corrections officer could make their application for a higher ranking position, or a position with another agency, more competitive with a Graduate Certificate. A professional in human resources or marketing could improve their likelihood of career success with a certificate in Business Psychology or General Psychology.

"Students who earn a Graduate Certificate also take significant steps in earning a master's degree in Psychology from the University of the Rockies," Kirkpatrick added.

Students may apply all of the credits they earn in the Graduate Certificate program toward earning a master's degree in Psychology from the University of the Rockies in the same specialization, provided they meet all application requirements. The certificate applicant must have a bachelor's degree from a regionally credited institution or the proper equivalent. Certificates do not confer any type of degree or eligibility for licensure.

"The University of the Rockies is pleased to offer these new Graduate Certificate programs to prospective students. Enrollment for these programs is currently underway," Kirkpatrick said.
