Bridgepoint Education, Inc. (NYSE: BPI) was a title sponsor for the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Congressional Luncheon on June 20, 2016 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront in downtown San Diego.
The annual event provided an opportunity for luncheon attendees to hear directly from Congresswoman Susan Davis (D), Congressman Darrell Issa (R), Congressman Scott Peters (D), and Congressman Duncan Hunter (R). The members of Congress talked about current activities in Washington D.C. and other federal issues related to the well-being of San Diego’s economy. With more than 500 community members in attendance, each Congressmember provided a brief update and answered questions pertaining to the upcoming 2016 presidential election, plans for expanding public transportation in San Diego, and California’s water shortage, among other topics.
Providing the title sponsor remarks on behalf of Bridgepoint Education was Robert Daugherty, executive dean of the Forbes School of Business® at Ashford University, a Bridgepoint-owned institution. Daugherty conveyed how honored Bridgepoint was to sponsor the Chamber’s annual luncheon.

In addition to Daugherty, other speakers included BAE Systems vice president and general manager of ISR Solutions Jordan Becker and Sea World San Diego Park president Marilyn Hannes. Welcome remarks were given by San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce president and CEO Jerry Sanders and chair of the Chamber board and president of the San Diego region Ernesto Arredondo, Jr. San Diego mayor Kevin Faulconer also provided a special message during the event. The panel was moderated by Aimee Faucett, executive vice president and CEO of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce.
