Bridgepoint Education Hosts 19th Annual California Women Lead Networking Luncheon
Luncheon brings together over 100 politically engaged San Diego women and men

Bridgepoint Education, Inc. (NYSE: BPI) hosted the 19th Annual California Women Lead Networking Luncheon on May 20, 2016 at the University Club in San Diego.

This highly anticipated event provided a networking opportunity for attendees to meet leaders from the San Diego community, and brought together over 100 politically engaged San Diego women and men who serve in elected or appointed office, or are otherwise very active in the San Diego political community.

Bridgepoint Associate Vice President of New Programs, Jodi Feikema, provided the opening remarks on behalf of Bridgepoint. Feikema relayed a special thank you to the California Women Lead organization for their continued work and support to increase the active participation of women across the state in the political process.

“It is an honor for Bridgepoint to be the title sponsor for California Women Lead’s 19th annual networking luncheon,” said Feikema. “This event is an excellent opportunity for political influencers within the San Diego community to come together to discuss key issues and women in leadership positions.”

During the event, a group of female panelists provided insight on topics pertaining to leadership, primarily, women who hold leadership roles, the under representation of women in elected and appointed offices on a state- and federal-level, diversity in the board room, equal pay, family values, and the importance of supporting both women and men during parental leave.

The panel, moderated by Charlene Zettel, a Regent of University of California and member of the California Women Lead State board of directors, included San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Aimee Faucett, UC San Diego Health Chief Executive Officer Patty Maysent, San Diego Downtown Partnership President and CEO Kris Michell, and Unified Port of San Diego President and CEO Randa Coniglio.
