Bridgepoint Education and Ashford University Give Back to the San Diego Community on Heroes Day
More than 225 Bridgepoint and Ashford employees and their families take part in trail beautification

Thanks to Bridgepoint Education, Inc. (NYSE: BPI) and Ashford University, the trails of Juniper Canyon are looking cleaner and more beautiful today. On Saturday, April 16, Bridgepoint and Ashford celebrated Heroes Day, a bi-annual volunteering event, by removing trash and planting native plants along the trails of the canyon.

“Bridgepoint prides itself on giving back to the communities we serve,” said Andrew Clark, Bridgepoint Education’s chief executive officer. “The effort to clean up Juniper Canyon gave employees an opportunity to work together and volunteer their time and energy to a worthy cause.”

The Juniper Canyon clean-up marked the eleventh Heroes Day event organized by Bridgepoint Education. The company collaborated with the San Diego Park and Recreation Department to link Heroes Day with the Department’s Week of Service initiative. San Diego City Councilmember Todd Gloria provided welcoming remarks, along with Bridgepoint’s Executive Vice President of External Affairs/Chief Academic Officer Dr. Jane McAuliffe, Ashford University President Dr. Richard Pattenaude, Supervising Recreation Specialist Kathy Castello, Park and Recreation Department Director Herman Parker, and Senior Park Ranger Jason Allen.
