Bridgepoint Associate Vice President of Institutional Research Elected President of the California Association for Institutional Research

Dr. Kristina Powers, associate vice president of institutional research at Bridgepoint Education, has been elected to the post of president for the California Association for Institutional Research (CAIR). This one-year position follows her term as vice president in 2015 and will mark her third year serving on the board.

CAIR is a non-profit organization that provides a forum for the dissemination of information and an exchange of ideas on problems of common interest in the field of institutional research. As president, Dr. Powers will head CAIR’s Board of Directors and support the organization’s mission of fostering unity and cooperation among persons having interests and activities related to institutional research and/or planning in California institutions of postsecondary education.

Institutional research covers a wide scope of work performed at schools and universities that is used in the planning and decision-making processes. It includes quantitative and qualitative data about the institution’s students, faculty, staff, curriculum, course offerings, and learning outcomes.
