Bridgepoint Education Announces Freedom Station Will Benefit From Holiday Bowl Ticket Sales
Freedom Station helps injured veterans successfully transition into civilian life

Bridgepoint Education (NYSE: BPI) today named San Diego's Freedom Station as the 2011 Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl beneficiary. The announcement was made during the Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl Hall of Fame Induction and Volunteer Recognition Luncheon at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in downtown San Diego.

"As part of our sponsorship of the Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl, we have agreed once again to donate $1 from each game ticket sold to a worthy community organization," said Bridgepoint chief executive officer Andrew Clark. "Last year, we were able to donate $60,000 and this year we have selected another great charity to serve as the beneficiary of the Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl."

Bridgepoint Education's donation will assist Freedom Station in its mission to help U.S. service members, who have been medically retired or discharged, make the difficult transition to civilian life. The Freedom Station facility in San Diego provides temporary lodging, education, counseling, physical therapy and career opportunities to injured and disabled heroes from all branches of the armed forces.

Bridgepoint Education and its universities have worked with Freedom Station previously. In 2010, Ashford University, one of the educational institutions operated by Bridgepoint Education, provided substantial support to help renovate Freedom Station and to make the facility compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. One of the cottages at Freedom Station now bears the Ashford University name in honor of the university's contributions.
