Bridgepoint Employees Rally to Support Victims of Japan's Earthquake and Tsunami
Bridgepoint Education will match employee donations dollar-for-dollar

Following Japan’s massive earthquake and tsunami, Bridgepoint Education (NYSE: BPI) has committed to match all funds donated by its employees to the American Red Cross’s Japan Earthquake & Pacific Tsunami relief fund.

The earthquake struck on the morning of March 11, east of Honshu, Japan. The 9.0-magnitude quake and subsequent 23-foot tsunami inflicted catastrophic damage upon hundreds of square miles of the island nation. Countless Japanese citizens were injured, killed or left with nothing and the nation continues to deal with the crippling after-effects of the natural disaster. Bridgepoint employees have seen the destruction and the needs left in its wake, and many have stood up to offer their assistance.

“On behalf of the entire Executive Team, I thank you for caring enough to reach out to help others in their time of need,” Bridgepoint Education chief executive officer Andrew Clark said to employees. “Bridgepoint is pleased to support that caring by matching your donations dollar for dollar.”

Bridgepoint Education prides itself on being a caring organization that is actively involved in the community, both locally and globally. Because of that caring corporate spirit, the company will match 100% of all employee contributions made through the American Red Cross – San Diego/Imperial Counties website. Eager to speed the pace of giving, Bridgepoint has committed to matching employee donations through April 4, 2011.

As college basketball legend John Wooden once said, “You can’t live a perfect day without doing something for someone who’ll never be able to repay you.”
