Inaugural Finish Chelsea's Run 5K Run/Walk to Be Sponsored by Bridgepoint Education
Balboa Park 5K Fundraiser Slated for March 2011

SAN DIEGO, Dec. 9, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Bridgepoint Education, Inc. (NYSE: BPI), a provider of postsecondary education services focused on providing higher access to higher education, has offered its support to the Finish Chelsea's Run 5K race and fun-run fundraiser. Bridgepoint will provide $40,000 to Chelsea's Light Foundation and the Sunflower Scholarship Fund, both beneficiaries of the 5K run/walk being held in Chelsea King's honor.

"Sponsoring Finish Chelsea's Run was an easy decision and Bridgepoint Education is honored to partner with Chelsea's Light Foundation which is all about perpetuating the way Chelsea King lived her short life," said Ross Woodard, Bridgepoint's senior vice president and chief marketing officer. "We are keen to augment children's educational aspirations however we can. The Sunflower Scholarship Fund is a wonderful way to do so."

Sadly, Chelsea King lost her young life in 2010 while running at Lake Hodges. Finish Chelsea's Run will take place on March 5, 2011, in Balboa Park, where King practiced with the San Diego Youth Symphony. The 5K will offer participants a competitive run or an alternative fitness run/walk. For more information and/or to register, go to http://www.facebook.com/chelseaslight or to chelseaslight.org.
