Second Annual Over the Edge for K.I.T. Fundraiser Sponsored by Bridgepoint Education
Local Bridgepoint Employees to Take Part in the Plunge

Bridgepoint Education, Inc. (NYSE: BPI), a provider of postsecondary education services focused on providing higher access to higher education, is a proud sponsor and supporter of the second-annual Over the Edge for K.I.T. fundraiser, a benefit for San Diego’s own Kids Included Together.

The Manchester Grand Hyatt’s towers are the tallest waterfront buildings on the west coast. On Saturday, Nov. 6, San Diego’s most adventurous folks will head to the roof of the Hyatt’s southern tower. From there, Over the Edge participants will take the hard way down, mountaineering from the roof of the 33-story building. The 10-minute roped rappel down 357 feet with a singular view of downtown San Diego ends at a poolside gathering on the Hyatt’s patio.

“The Over the Edge fundraiser provides a wonderful benefit to Kids Included Together (K.I.T.) – last year the event raised $50,000,” stated Bridgepoint Education’s Chief Academic Officer Dr. Jane McAuliffe. “In addition to raising funds to support youth organizations and disabled children through San Diego’s K.I.T., Over the Edge gives rappelling enthusiasts and local adventurers the opportunity to safely jump off a 33-story building.”

Kids Included Together is a local nonprofit that supports recreation and after-school programs for children. The San Diego-based organization trains community and neighborhood youth organizations to better serve all children in their care, including the needs of handicapped children. This will be the second year that K.I.T. staged the Over the Edge adventure fundraiser.

Three Bridgepoint Education in-house adventurers will take their own run down the 357 foot wall. Joining Dr. McAuliffe will be Sheri Jones, vice president of Bridgepoint’s administrative services and Kristy Andersen, director of student services for Bridgepoint’s University of the Rockies. Each participant in Over the Edge raised or donated a minimum of $1,000 to the Kids Included Together cause.
