Bridgepoint Education Golden Ticket to Benefit Rady Children's Hospital and Union-Tribune's Kids' Newsday

Bridgepoint Education, Inc. (NYSE: BPI), a provider of postsecondary education services focused on providing higher access to higher education, has joined forces with the San Diego Union-Tribune and NBC 7/39 to support Kids’ NewsDay and Rady Children’s Hospital with the Bridgepoint Education Golden Ticket.

On Tuesday, October 19, local and celebrity volunteers will be on the street, selling daily Union-Tribune newspapers filled with stories about the brave patients and families of Rady Children’s Hospital. Inside each copy of this special-edition newspaper will be a unique Bridgepoint Education Golden Ticket, potentially worth $5,000. Tickets are individually numbered. The winning ticket will be selected October 21 on the NBC 7/39 news at 6 and 11 p.m.

“Bridgepoint Education is proud to be involved in Kids’ NewsDay with the Union-Tribune and NBC 7/39,” said Jennifer Love Bruce, director of community relations at Bridgepoint Education. “Supporting Rady Children’s Hospital with the Bridgepoint Education Golden Ticket was an easy decision. We’re excited to offer this added value to this year’s Kids’ NewsDay.”

Rady Children’s Hospital is among the finest hospitals for children in the nation, and the sole pediatrics-only hospital in San Diego County. Just this month, Rady opened its 154-bed Acute Care Pavilion, a facility dedicated to serving the needs of San Diego’s children.

“When out and about on Tuesday, October 19, it will be easy to spot San Diego firefighters, school children, volunteers and representatives of the local media selling the special-edition Kids’ NewsDay Union-Tribune for $1,” said Love Bruce. “Our hope is that with the Bridgepoint Education Golden Tickets inside, more issues than ever before of the Kids’ NewsDay newspapers will be sold, benefitting Rady Children’s Hospital and its young patients.”
