Bridgepoint Education is sponsoring a series of public service spots on the radio station that feature top country acts encouraging listeners to make reading a family activity. The impressive list of artists lending their voices to the campaign includes Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Gretchen Wilson, Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, Jimmy Wayne, Love and Theft, Michelle Branch, Chris Young, Sarah Buxton and Kellie Pickler.
“Hi, this is Reba,” begins the spot featuring McEntire. “Have you read a good book lately? Well, take a few minutes and read to your kids tonight. Read as a family. Thank you Bridgepoint Education for helping readers to read.”
Bridgepoint Education is also sponsoring a Teacher of the Month program in conjunction with the literacy campaign. Listeners are being asked to log on to www.newcountry957.com to nominate educators they feel are most deserving of the honor. Each month, one teacher will be selected to win an award, prizes, and an in-classroom visit from on-air personality Cindy Spicer.
The literacy campaign and Teacher of the Month contest are part of Bridgepoint Education’s ongoing efforts to promote education within the community.
